Why "Namaste S.S."?

Namaste is a yoga reference. Mindfulness. Peacefulness. Relax. Chill. Be thankful for all there is. And have a great life. My ex-wife was a hot yoga teacher when we met, and she brought our kid into this world, and yes it’s also a lovely reminder of that.

The S.S. is like a shipping reference - literally standing for "Steam Ship" as opposed to a power vessel (MV = motor vessel). This aligns with the feel and flow of the property where life is not about "power" and 'screen time', it is about relaxing, not getting from A to B as quickly and efficiently as possible, but taking the time to smell the sea air and relax.

But S.S. also stands for South Straddie, the beautiful island paradise on which this amazing holiday home is located.

Lots of space and beds for the whole family. Great open plan living area with fireplace for winter. Outside lawn and large deck for playing, fire pit, relaxing and BBQ summer afternoons. Basketball court out the back! Large pontoon for your vessel and your friends right out front.

If you’re staying 3 or more nights, please enquire and see if we can offer discounted rates (especially for mid-week stays). A material discount will also apply for stays of 1 week or more.

There is not vehicle access to, or on the island. You won’t need it. We are not associated with Couran Cove at all, no issues with our utilities. But BYO everything - food and drink, and firewood if you intend to use a lot. We’ll have the kitchen stocked with usual amenities and conveniences but not fully stocked for executive chefs 😉
